Astro is a telecom architect specializing in 3GPP terrestrial and non-terrestrial network integration, with a current emphasis on direct-to-device and direct-to-cell connectivity. His work tracks the evolution of 5G NTN from concept to deployment. Between 2020 and 2022 at SnT Luxembourg, he built some of the first 5G/NTN testbeds, extending LTE and 5G protocol stacks for GEO and LEO satellites with ESA and European partners. Since 2022 at OQ Technology, he has led the integration of NB-IoT and 5G into NTN, shaping architectures, adapting protocol stacks, and closely following 3GPP Releases 17 through 19. Astro collaborates with vendors, chipset makers, and mobile operators on roaming, interoperability, and direct-to-mobile readiness, bridging system design, industry partnerships, and field validation to deliver global direct-to-mobile connectivity.
